Many countries have implemented travel restrictions and other measures in an attempt to slow the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19). Australia is no exception.
Effective 15 March, all travellers to Australia will be required to self-isolate for 14 days.
Cruise liners are banned from arriving at Australian ports for 30 days.
Anyone who has left or transited mainland China, South Korea, Iran or Italy within the previous 14 days will be refused entry to Australia, with the exception of:
- Australian citizens and permanent residents
- New Zealand citizens resident in Australia
- The immediate family members of Australian citizens and permanent residents (spouse/partner, children, and legal guardians); and
Temporary visa holders who do not meet one of the exemptions above will have their visa cancelled. Arrangements will be made to reinstate visas as appropriate following the lifting of these enhanced border control measures.
